Sacrificially serving for the sake of the Kingdom

The ministry team continued to serve by recruiting and resourcing our teams at CPE. Ping Mao, Ben and Sisi Thai and Matthew Fong have been busily running serve expos and meeting with people to discuss how they can serve at CPE.
It’s always pleasing to see ministries with significant resourcing needs get met. In 2024, we saw a significant number of people enter the ministry teams in Sunday School, host team and Kingdom Kart.
At the other end of the spectrum, we also want to see people raised to consider full time ministry through our ministry internship, MTS. The Kings Call event was well attended and resulted in a number of positive conversations around future direction. Jessie Wong has proceeded on to do MTS with City Bible Forum.
One of the challenges is in community with clarity the pathway to serving at CPE to the whole church and consistently following people up on that pathway. Lack of clarity may hold some people back from serving where they could.
Keeping serving on the forefront of our church’s mind was also identified as an area we could improve on. Two serve expos help but there’s long periods in between where we’re not often speaking about the needs and opportunities to serve.
With many ministries growing quickly, we need new ways to equip, train and coach leaders across the board.
We want to see increasing numbers of youth and young adults serving in our church so we’re looking at ways to equip and empower them to play their part in our church both to help them grow and mature and to bring the energy of youth into some of our teams!
We’re also working on raising and training more coaches in other areas of church life like Sunday School and Youth.
